Detailed Description

Climate refugia are places that may be buffered from and likely won’t change as much under climate change. Focusing research on these areas may offer resource managers more conservation and management options.

Learn about how USGS researchers at the Northeast Climate Adaptation Science Center are working with partners at the National Park Service, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, the Schoodic Institute, and others to see how climate refugia might conserve plants, like the three-toothed cinquefoil, that are unique to Acadia National Park.
